Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Assisted Stretching?

Assisted stretching is a one-on-one service where a trained provider helps guide your body through gentle, controlled stretches. Unlike stretching on your own, assisted stretching allows for deeper, more effective stretches while maintaining proper form and safety.

How Is Assisted Stretching Different From Massage or Chiropractic Care?

Assisted stretching focuses on improving flexibility, mobility, and range of motion. While chiropractic care addresses joint movement and nervous system function, and massage targets muscle tension, assisted stretching helps lengthen muscles and improve movement patterns. Many patients benefit from combining all three services.

Who Can Benefit From Assisted Stretching?

Assisted stretching is helpful for people of all activity levels—from athletes to individuals with sedentary jobs. Patients often choose assisted stretching to improve flexibility, reduce stiffness, support posture, enhance athletic performance, or maintain mobility as they age.

Is Assisted Stretching Safe?

Yes. Assisted stretching is safe when performed by trained professionals. Each session is customized to your comfort level, mobility, and health history. We communicate throughout the session and adjust stretches as needed to ensure a safe and positive experience.

What Should I Expect During My First Assisted Stretching Session?

During your first visit, your provider will review your movement patterns, flexibility, and goals. You’ll remain fully clothed, and stretches will be guided slowly and intentionally. Communication is encouraged so stretches stay within a comfortable, beneficial range.

How Does Assisted Stretching Work With Chiropractic Care?

Assisted stretching can help prepare the body for chiropractic adjustments or support lasting results afterward. Improving flexibility and mobility may help reduce tension around joints and support better movement patterns between visits.

Can Assisted Stretching Help With Pain or Stiffness?

Assisted stretching is commonly used to help reduce muscle tightness, stiffness, and movement restrictions. While it does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, it can support comfort, mobility, and overall physical function.

Do I Need to Be Flexible to Start Assisted Stretching?

Not at all. Assisted stretching is designed for all flexibility levels. Many patients begin because they feel stiff or restricted, and sessions are tailored to meet you where you are.
