Frequently Asked Questions

What Types of Massage Therapy Do You Offer?

At True Potential Chiropractic, our licensed massage therapists offer a variety of techniques tailored to your needs. These may include relaxation massage, therapeutic or deep tissue work, and focused treatment for areas of tension or discomfort. Each session is customized based on your goals, comfort level, and care plan.

How Does Massage Therapy Work With Chiropractic Care?

Massage therapy and chiropractic care work extremely well together. Massage helps relax muscles, reduce tension, and improve circulation, which can allow chiropractic adjustments to be more comfortable and effective. Many patients choose massage before or after chiropractic care as part of a comprehensive approach to wellness.

Do I Need to See a Chiropractor to Get a Massage?

No. Massage therapy is available to both chiropractic patients and individuals who are only seeking massage care. However, if you are also under chiropractic care, our team may coordinate massage and adjustments to best support your treatment goals.

What Conditions Can Massage Therapy Help With?

Massage therapy is commonly used to help with muscle tension, stress, headaches, neck and back discomfort, postural strain, sports-related tightness, and general relaxation. While massage does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, it can support overall comfort, mobility, and recovery.

Is Massage Therapy Safe?

Yes. Massage therapy is generally safe for most people and is always adapted to your comfort level and health history. Before your session, your therapist will review any concerns, injuries, or sensitivities to ensure care is appropriate for you.

What Should I Expect During My First Massage Appointment?

During your first visit, your massage therapist will discuss your health history, areas of concern, and goals for the session. You will always be properly draped, and communication is encouraged throughout the massage to ensure your comfort. Our goal is for you to feel relaxed, safe, and well cared for.

Do I need to undress for my massage?

You’ll undress to your personal comfort level. Most patients choose to undress fully or leave on undergarments. You’ll be properly draped at all times, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

What should I expect after my massage?

It’s normal to feel relaxed, sore, or even a little tired afterward—similar to how you might feel after a good workout. Be sure to drink plenty of water, take it easy for the rest of the day, and let us know if you have any lingering discomfort.

What if I’m sick or not feeling well?

If you’re feeling sick, have a fever, or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, we ask that you reschedule your appointment. Massage can place extra stress on your body when you’re ill, and rescheduling helps keep everyone healthy.

Is massage safe during pregnancy?

Yes, prenatal massage is safe and beneficial when performed by a trained therapist. We use specialized positioning and techniques to ensure comfort and safety for both mom and baby. If you’re pregnant, please let us know how far along you are and share any medical concerns before your session.

Why Choose Massage Therapy at True Potential Chiropractic?
