Health & Happiness: Start 2018 with a Few Good Habits

Daily stress has slowly begun to rescind, unwanted presents have been returned, and there isn’t another office party on the calendar for months – the holidays are over and its time to focus on yourself. The New Year is the perfect time to leave bad habits behind and make sweeping changes to who we are now. So if you’re reading this and without any new habits to implement, we’ve got a few for you to try!

Start each morning with a big glass of warm lemon water. One benefit, among many, is a high concentration of Vitamin C, which gives a natural boost to the immune system as well as flush out any toxins hanging around from the day before.

Maybe you’re more into something to challenge you mentally. Perhaps it looks like reading a book a week, or beginning a journal in which you reflect upon your day-to-day life.

Or lastly, and arguably the most important, you’re looking to improve your physical health, conditioning, appearance, etc.

We recommend starting with S.M.A.R.T. goals – specific, measureable, achievable, realistic, and timely – in hopes to avoid burnout. Start small, and build from there with each success.

Nevertheless, it’s important to start these changes on the right foot by getting the right help.  For example,  having two types of Doctors on your team, a Sickcare Doctor will typically focus on your heart and blood while a Healthcare Doctor can focus on your spine and nervous system. Healthcare specialists will give you strategies to stay well and focus on prevention which is usually preferred over the “wait and see” philosophy. They may provide personalized advice to incorporate with your new goals.  So be sure to get checked from an MD.  When it comes to reaching your true potential in 2018, get your spine and nervous system check-up from a local Chiropractic Healthcare Professional.
